Meeting was called to order by President Richard Ecker. All Officers were present. Introductions were made all around. Twenty members and guests were present. The treasurers report was given by our Treasurer Kyle Glenn. Our Guest speaker was again, Mike Nettlingham who finished his presentation that was interrupted at our last meeting due to sound system difficulties. The information on detailing your car both interior as well as the exterior. It was vary informative and just in time for the upcoming Car Shows. The Tillamook Cruise was discussed and the openion of those that took part , was that we should make it an annual event. No motion was made on this. We discussed our up coming Show-N-Shine on the 28th of this Month. How the judging will done. Our attempt is to make the judging as fair as possable. Again it is being held at Forged Performance. Lunch included thanks to Forged Performance. Once again they will have the Dyno availabel at a bargain price for all entrants. The PDX Family Car Show will be held on 9/11 from 10:00 to 4:00. This year it will be on the Air Force Base. This is a Free event however you MUST REGISTER in advance. Prior to Sept 6th. To register you can either call Mary Bell at 503-335-4193 or by email mary.bell@ang.af.mil Put PDX Car Show in the subject line. The following information is necessary. Drivers name , drivers mailing address & drivers license number. You are applying for a parking pass on a active military base. This is the reason it is necessary . Your Pass will be mailed to you. THIS PASS IS NON-TRANSFERABLE . No passes will be available at the gate! I have taken part in this show for the past 3 years and have found it to be a great time. SEPT. 22 AT PIR Our Club being one of the Clubs belonging to the Multnoma Hot Rod Council . We have been invited to the Cruise In and all MEMBERS Z cars, reguardless of the year are welcome. Just present your Membership Card at the gate. As always there is a $5.00 entry fee. There are 19 Clubs that will be represented and so they need to know how many will be partisipating so they can provide enough space for all the Cars. SO PLEASE! If you are planning to take part in this event. Contact one of your Officers so we can forward the numbers to those in charge. E mail is preferred. The Cruise in is from 3:00 untill dark. Food is available as well as refreshments. This is a event that is held to raise money for Childrens needs so You are asked NOT to bring you own food and libations. 8:30 Meeting was ajourned.
Good post. I have been to there shop. Great guys and vary helpful. One of our members needed to have a drive shaft made for his Z because of what he is building. They were knowledgeable and helpful and the shaft that they made is first rate. Isn't it great when you find talented people out there that take pride in what they do ?

Please welcome, Pete Patterson It was necessary to postpone Mike Nettlingham's presentation for this meeting. June 12 and 13 Is THE CANBY SHOW being put on by Datsun's North West. The show is on Sunday and was discussed at length and it looks like it will be a great event. NWZ will be having a booth both days, so if anyone has parts to sell or swap, contact Richard Ecker. June 11,12 & 13 IS ROSE CUP RACES at PIR. Our Club will have a Club Corral in the infield just like for the Historic Races. One of our members Steve Epperly will be competing this year, driving his 240 Z. It looks like the weather is going to be GREAT for the two events on the weekend. June 17-20th Planters Days in Woodland. go to plantersdays.com for more information June 19th is the 2nd annual EXOTIC CAR SHOW. Being held at the Salishan Resort 3 miles south of Lincoln City . Check with Greg Ernest for details. June 18th is the deadline to register for the Hillsboro parade . See Roger and Tara for details. The FORTH OR JULY PARADE is being held on the THIRD OF JULY ! July 4, At RIDGEFIELD Washington , this celebration is a all day event with tons of activities going on all day. Check our activities calendar for details. July 17th VANCOUVER WA. Plans are to meet at the upper Parking lot at the Zoo at 8:00 This will give us plenty of time to arrive at the Museum , see the show and have lunch and cruise home. We have options for the return home depending on when we want to leave . Abdul, welcome to our web site. I have a Yellow 240Z also, so there are two of us in the Club. + one yellow race car!! We are having a cruise this coming Saturday and you are welcome to join us. I couldn't make the Tranny show, but I did drive out to Papa's Toys. The day was stellar, warm and clear , the cars were just great, and from all over. Salem, eastern Oregon and the Coast ... Like PIR on Wednesday night only way better. In fact I spent 3 hours just in the parking lot and never did go in the building. After a couple of hours, some of the cars were leaving and more were still arriving . So the show was continually changing . I will do it again next year and this time I well go inside and see the additional 175 show cars. LOL My yellow Z was the only Z in the show. And there were many people checking the old girl out too ! Ha ha Gary
I think he is about 10K short to trade for a '50s vintage car, that would need lots of work. tops his Z is worth 1k maybe.

Our guest speaker John Wayland was introduced and he was vary informative in the new advancement in battery development . John brought us all up to date on what is happening with his Drag car and some great things coming up in the vary near future . Great news John. Looking forward to seeing you on TV and in the record books. Space age stuff was shown and explained , amazing things to come. Kayle Glen our Treasure gave his report , and we have all bills paid and a positive balance. ROSE CUP RACES , June 11--13th If you want passes for the weekend, you need to have your $35.00 in to Dan Russel by April 20th. The Rose Cup Races have the same format as the Historic Races, in that we will have our own Corral and will be invited to take a Parade lap on Sat. & Sunday. This should be some great races. Steve Epperly is unsure if they will compete on the weekend we hope you can make it.
June 12--13th is the CANBY All DATSUN/NISSAN Car Show being put on by Datsun NW. We will be having a booth there at the show so come by and say hello. A swap meet will be going on also. ROADSTER SHOW 14th & 15th are move in days and the Show starts on the 16th threw 18th Volunteers to help set things up and locate the cars in position are needed. DATSUN NW is having a run to the Gorge this coming Sunday the 11th check there web site or check with Reuel Mark for details.

You should send a e mail to Richard about the club decal , because there are several colors and a couple of different sizes to choose from. Well ... Hats off for ZCCW ! The three racers that they sent down were stellar. They did well to represent there club. There will be a write up to follow and with pictures. It was a great day with smiles all around. However the trophy will go up to Salem. :-( Too much fun with super people. Looking forward to next year. Gary M
March 18th was a blast ! We had our whole group of 15racers on the track at the same time. What a kick. Many laughs, we all couldn't stop smiling both before and after our race. Looking forward to the 27th. My first time in a Kart like that and it surprised me just how well they handle and with only a 6hp motor , they really haul. Lots of fun. Gary
Minutes of the March 3, 2010 of North West Z Car Club Meeting was called to order by President Richard Ecker at 7:00 All board members were present and accounted for. Introductions were made and we had 24 members in a attendance. Guest Speakers were Bill & Karen Becker from Becker's Auto Restoration. They told us about there operation , and what they offered. They have spaces that can be rented to work on your project , body , paint , interior most everything. They have a professional spray booth. They also offer classes on body work, basic welding and patch panel installation . Also seat cover installation. The Becker family have been in the car hobby business for over 40 years. Our members are welcome to visit the facility located at 19146 SW Tile Flat Rd. Beaverton 97007 503-628-2174 Bill and Karen Thank you for your presentation. New Member : Renatta Burke . Welcome to our Club. We look forward to you joining us on our Cruises and events in the future. Treasurers report, was given by Kyle Glen, and almost all members have paid there dues we have 55 members in good standing. Vice President Dan Russell reported that Team Continental Grass Valley have invited Our membership to a Track Day. Friday May 21st . A helmet is required , Snell 2000 or newer. All open top Cars must have Roll Bars. Cost for Track Day is $145.00 TWO Events are being held on June 11-13 weekend. CANBY SHOW being held at the Clackamus County Fair Grounds. They are having a Auto Cross event also but at another site. Contact Datsuns N W for time and place . The other event is THE ROSE CUP RACES , which will be held at P. I. R. They have the same 3 day format as the Historic Races. 3 day passes and a Corral pass are $35.00 The dead line for tickets to the Rose Cup Races is in May. Further information to follow. July 9-11 Historic Races at P.I.R. The 3 day tickets and Corral pass $45.00. Further info to follow. MSA Event in Los Angeles will be in April. Note This will be only a ONE DAY EVENT.
April 16-18 Roadster Show at the Portland Convention Center . Our Club is responsible for the Trophy Presentation Ceremony. Mike Nettlingham is heading up this and is asking help in data entry. Help is needed in other ways as well , such as directing the arriving participants to there assigned spaces and many other things that are necessary. ALSO ON THE SAME DATE. ZCCW is having a cruise up the George to Mary's Hill and along the way on the Oregon side of the Columbia. On the 18th and 19th Contact zccw.org for further information. SYKART !! Practice evening is on the 18th of March at 7:00 and the Race on March the 27th. At 2:00 We will go and have dinner afterward. Busters has been recommended. Minutes of North West Z monthly meeting February 3 2010 Introductions were made and we had 19 members present. Treasurer Kyle Glen gave his report , and so far about 50% of our members are paid up. Vice President Dan Russel reported that we are in need of a Events coordinator. he has been filling this position temporarily . If a member is interested in filling this position to contact him or any Board member. Guest Speaker: Our guest speaker was Jimmy Bacon From the Tire Factory in Beaverton. Located on Canyon Blvd and Hwy. 217. Jimmy was vary informative and we had mostly a question and answer session that covered information of interest of our group. Inflation and the use on Nitrogen Gas. Rubber compounds that effect cornering vs. wear and longevity. At there Store they have the latest in alignment capabilities with there new state of the art equipment . Mike Nettlingham gave a short rundown on what he is doing for the Roadster Show. North West Z has taken on the responsibility for the awards presentation. Mike is asking for help . Anyone with computer skills that would be willing to help please contact Mike Nettlingham. Up coming events : the date for our annual competition with ZCCW at Sykart here in Tigard is March 27th. This compitation has been a great deal of fun for several years. The plan is to have a Club Event at Sykart as a ' tuneup' and another one in March just before the 27th. Tune up dates will be announced. Via our email mail list. North West Z has been invited to take part in a Track Day at the new Oregon Raceway Park in Grass Valley, on May 21st. more information will available , as we get closer to the event day. Ray Hoen was asked to speak to the group about some of the history of Datsun as it began selling Cars and Trucks here in the USA. Ray's father worked directly with Mr. K in the beginning and Ray also in later years. This was in the early 60s Future events: will be posted on our events calendar . Our Guest speaker for the evening will be from The Tire Factory. He will cover information such as how to measure of offset, the different tires and there applications . Wheel alignment among other information.
It seems that there was a confusion as to the deadline for registration for admitting a car for showing. The information given at the time of our meeting was a deadline of Feb. 15.
Printed information from the Show states FEB. 1, 2010 So If you wish to enter your Z , the time is short.

I think I have the correct boot , just over 7' long. But no retainer . I will make something. I have been wrestling with my disabler since the tranny change. Couple of things got messed up. I think I have it sorted out now and should have it fixed tomorrow. Hope the weather will be OK for the Polar Bear Cruise. Have they been 'sanding' the roads much down your way?

Are there more than one Size ? The one I bought from MSA is much longer than the opening in the tranny tunnel. I am wondering if I was sent one for a 280 instead of for an 240. Before I start cutting the metal away I thought I would ask. Thanks, Gary
7:00 Introductions were made and we had 21 members present treasure's report was given By Kyle Glenn . Kyle asked the that the membership please pay there dues prior to Feb. 15 . Only members in good standing will be included in the Magazine order to Nissan Sport. You can mail a check to Kyle Glynn. We are looking into having a Pay Pal account in the near future.
There was a motion to have business cards printed Motion was passed. Cards will be available at our next meeting.
For Members in good standing , the 2010 Membership I D cards were passed out . This year, on the face of your I D. You will find a picture of your Z as well as your I D number. If you do not have a picture in your profile on our members list, then a picture of Mr. K is substituted.
Member Raymond Hoen has given to our Club a rare poster from the party that was given for Mr K for his 100 th Birthday. We will have a raffle in the near future at one of our Monthly meetings. Ray also made a motion to donate from our treasury $10.00 for each paid member that did not attend the Christmas Party. The motion passed . Ray stated that he would match these funds with his one funds. The Donation is to go to the Datsun/Nissan Museum in Marys ville . This Museum is only supported by donations and is run by volunteers. We will be sending $125.00. Ray is matching this.
Winter overnight at the Coast is going to be on the 23rd of Feb. We will be staying at Chinook Winds. Tower of Power is the featured entertainment. You must reserve your own rooms and Tickets if you wish to attend the show.
Jan.30 Polar Bear Cruise. Datsun s N W has planned this cruise . Information as to the time and place to meet has been posted on our event Calendar. You can also go to Datsun N W web site. The area covered is east of Salem and we will visit a couple of covered bridges during the cruise. For those driving down from the North, we will be meeting at the roadside rest on I-5 just past Wilsonville. Departure time is 9:00 sharp.
April Roadster Show. We are not going to have a Club Corral this year. The Show is cutting down on Club Corrals because of space constraints. If any Member is interested in showing your Z you need to send pictures and a description of your car as well as the registration fee of $50.00 . Your car will be evaluated by the show comity. Your Z must be of Show quality to qualify. The cut off date for applications is Feb 15th This Chip Foose , the custom Car builder and Overhaul-in Star of the T V Show and he will be bring 3 or 4 cars. For contact information see Mike Nettlengham or Reuel Mark. With this Car Show being the only one of it's kind on the West Coast , entries are coming from several other States.
July, 9-11 Historic Races these are tentative dates for now. More information will be posted on our events Calender as soon as we hear form them.
We are planning a track day at Sky Cart , in Feb. This will be prior to our March meeting with WZCC . The March date will be on our Event Calender. We are waiting for WZCC to advise because they are driving down from Seattle, and they haven't set there event Calendar yet.
