The annual Maryhill / Loops Road weekend Cruise took place on April 30th & May 1st. The large group from our sister Club ZCCW, left the Seattle area early Saturday morning and safely arrived in Vancouver for a well deserved breakfast at IHOP.
It was decided that the caravan would skip the crowded “attractions” along I-84 heading the Hood River. We decided to stop at the WAM Airplane and Auto museum in Hood River after an uber exciting cruise down I-84!
The group did, however, turn it up with the Mosier Highlands twisties road leading into the Dalles. A welcome arrival at Country Cousin’s motel, where everyone is a “Cousin” allowed for some relaxation before the group meal on Saturday night. While many keep the party going into the wee hours (as evidenced by the bloodshot eyes at breakfast Sunday), serious drivers went to bed early for the Sunday activities.
Sunday morning arrived and after an incredible breakfast hosted by our “cousins”, the group was off to our Maryhill Museum rendezvous with the rest of the Oregon group. A few photo ops at Stonehenge and we were off to the Loops Road.
Beautiful weather, light breezes and a porta-potty to boot! What more could you ask for? After several hours of apexes and straights, all were tired and running low on fuel!
Marty. Richard and the ZCCW group were great hosts once again and we said our goodbyes until next year…or the Go Kart Challenge whichever comes first….
