On Sunday, September 20th, NWZ headed out to Hood River for our annual Fruit Loop Cruise. We met up at the Troutdale Outlet Mall to start the cruise. It was a beautiful day for driving up the gorge.
Our first stop was Panorama Point where there is a marvelous view of the Hood River Valley and Mt. Hood. Upon leaving there, we encountered two dogs in the roadway. This was an interesting delay as they didn’t want to leave and we couldn’t just leave them there for a possible injury or worse. We ended up locating their home and took them there. After a lengthy delay, we made stops for produce, cookies, lavender, and to see the Alpacas. Finally, we made it to Parkdale for lunch at the Apple Valley BBQ, best BBQ in the area !!
We ended our day at the Apple Valley County Store with Pear Dumplings. Everyone went home with a full stomach. We can’t wait for the Fruit Loop cruise next year.
